More than a grill, an authentic taste.

A story of family, fire and steel

Where we come from, a mechoui isn’t just a meal, it’s a gathering. It’s the whole extended family, the kids running around the fire, the smell of burning wood mixing with the meat on the grill. It’s the cabin in the Laurentians on a Friday night, the hunting camp in Abitibi at dawn, the trout caught that same morning and grilled right on the shore. In Québec, we don’t cook just to eat, we cook to be together.

« That’s the love we wanted to honour by creating the MASHWIMC, our portable rocket stove made in Canada. »

The MASHWIMC was born at TGP Metals, a name in metal fabrication in Québec for more than 15 years. We know metal, we know our winters, and above all we know what really matters to families here: a portable wood stove that lights fast, holds its heat, and follows you wherever life goes, from the forest to the backyard.

We wanted to bring back outdoor wood-fire cooking, the kind from the hunting camp, the cabin, the family mechoui, without hauling a propane tank around. The rocket stove, with its L-shaped chamber that concentrates the heat of a handful of branches and a few hardwood offcuts, was the right answer for anyone looking for a real alternative to the propane barbecue.

Designed here, every stove is made of steel that stands up to high temperatures, built with our winters in mind. No unnecessary parts: an L-shaped firebox, folding legs, a cooking surface. If it doesn’t serve the flame, it isn’t on there.

We’re not asking you to take our word for it. The MASHWIMC will take care of the rest.

“We make it in Canada, we answer in Canada, one email is enough.”
